Thanks to Dr. Rene Hackney of Parenting Playgroups for her wonderful presentation on Positive Discipline at our June meeting! This was our first meeting at our new location, and we thank Arlington United Methodist Church for hosting us!From Rene's talk, we all learned a lot about empathy, positive intent and much, much more! Rene gave a great presentation and provided lots of thoughtful responses to our many questions.
Among the books Rene recommended were Becky Bailey's Easy to Love,
Difficult to Discipline and Alfie Kohn's Unconditional Parenting. Rene also has a Positive Discipline workbook for sale that can be used with or without her Positive Discipline classes, which she teaches around the area and at Parenting Playgroups in Alexandria (and soon to come to Falls Church).
